    Real Housewives of Orange County: Simon’s Season

    A post-mortem for Simon Barney, of sorts.

    Who ever thought Season 5 of the Real Housewives of Orange County would turn out to be “all Simon Barney, all the time”? From the first episode on, Simon Barney’s emotional meltdown has been the focus. This about a guy claiming to no longer wanting to participate in the show.

    Poor Tamra. Not a Tamra Barney fan, but she put up with mucho bullshit over the years. Simon certainly didn’t appreciate the truck driver with tits becoming the main breadwinner, lol!  With the loss of his job at Fletcher-Jones Mercedes, he spun out of control. We saw hints of it last season, especially during “Naked Wasted”.    Funny how the character traits he married Tamra for became the things he tried to change in her. Isn’t that always the way? 

    The Limo conversation on the way to the finale was something. I’m surprised they were able to stay together for 3 months after that. But it was real, and it let us see the impending separation.

    Blaming all his troubles on Vicki Gunvalson and feeling so threatened by her success shows how fragile his little ego is. Then bitching and whining everywhere, first on his Bravo blog, then on his Facebook page, put the icing on the cake. Would we know about Eddie Judge were it not for Simon? Probably not.

    He won’t appear on the reunion show, so we may have seen the last of Simon Barney. Maybe.

    Simon and Tamra Barney: The Lucy and Desi of Trash?

    Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz didn’t make it either.  Just sayin’

    No divorce , or even a hearing in the case of Simon Barney vs. Tamra Barney. But Tamra is getting her groove on with Eddie Judge , 37, of Ladera Ranch.

    Tamra is expected to drop a “bombshell” in the Season Finale on Thursday, March 4, but filming wrapped back in early September.  Since this bombshell can’t be the divorce…she moved out shortly after January 1, or dating Eddie Judge, what can this be, who can say?

    OC Episode 13 Sneak Peek

    If you watched the end of last week’s drama-fueled episode, you’ll recall that it concluded with a catty argument in a San Francisco bar/restaurant between original housewife Vicki Gunvalson and newest housewife Alexis Bellino. Well, that fight continues with some more animosity and verbal jabs thrown.

    According to the teaser at the end of episode 12, the ladies take it outside, where more insults and fireworks (the bad kind) are exchanged. We’ll also see another tense discussion between Tamra and Simon Barney, who are teetering toward divorce.

    Tamra says, “I spend 90 percent of my time with the kids.”

    Simon responds, “You really don’t. Not lately.”

    Tamra reveals in a one-on-one interview, “Right now the kids are getting a little bit older and I’m getting a little bit more freedom, and I don’t think Simon likes that a lot.”

    Next we see Lynne Curtin talking to her husband Frank in a hotel room. Daughter Alexa, 17, is present too.

    Lynne says, “I don’t know what in your past is causing you to, like, lie constantly to me.”

    Frank responds, “I swear, I am so sorry.”

    Alexa, in her infinite wisdom and appropriateness, says, “I feel like it’s bull(expletive).”

    We also see Tamra knocking over a drink back at Waterbar. Everyone laughs, especially Briana Gunvalson, who’s sitting right next to her. Tamra wavers at her seat, then says, “Check please!”

    Simon Still Whinin’ Calls Tamra “Scorpion”

    His name is Eddie Judge. He’s from Ladera Ranch. Radaronline.com reported that Simon Barney, the man to whom Tamra has been married for 11 years, caught Eddie and Tamra holding hands and “acting like a couple” Saturday night at a club in the Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas.

    In the post, Simon called it “the ultimate betrayal” since he’s friends with Judge. He confronted Judge, asked him if he was (bleeping) his wife, and then fell to his knees as security was escorting him out.

    Simon filed for divorce from Tamra on Jan. 7.

    Tamra denies that she and Judge are dating or are a couple. “We’re really good friends,” she said in an interview today. “I think he’s a wonderful person. He’s helped me a lot through this. If something does evolve, I’d be lucky.”

    Tamra said she went to the club with several people, including “Housewives” castmate Lynne Curtin, not just with Judge.

    “He’s hurt. He’s lashing out,” Tamra said about Simon’s account of the matter. “He filed for divorce, so what I do in my personal life is really none of his business. I would be so lucky to have a solid guy like Eddie. You really know who you’re married to when you go through a divorce.”

    Simon stands by his story and says Tamra set him up to see her and Judge together. “This is premeditated. It was maniacal and evil,” Simon said in an interview. “That’s the kind of person she is. I was totally caught off guard.”

    While Tamra denies confirming her new relationship to Radaronline, Simon says the Web site used text messages she sent to a reporter at the site. The reporter could not be reached Monday for comment.

    UPDATE (2/08/10): The Radaronline reporter, Alan Butterfield, called the Register back and said Tamra’s recent text messages indicate there is a relationship between Judge and herself. The messages went something like this:

    Butterfield: How long have you been dating him?
    Tamra: Since last week. We’ve been friends for a year.

    Butterfield: Are you sleeping with him?
    Tamra: Yes, since last week.

    Butterfield also said Tamra provided Radaronline with a photo of the new couple. It appears to be the same photo Judge uses on his Facebook page, except Tamra’s face is cut out of his profile picture.

    Simon said he’s trying to take the high road and related the story of the scorpion and the frog. According to that tale, the scorpion wanted to get across a river. He asked the frog to give him a ride, and assured that he wouldn’t poison the frog. But while they were crossing, the scorpion poisoned the frog anyway.

    “I’m the frog, she’s the scorpion,” Simon said of his estranged wife. “She can’t help it. It’s just in her nature.”

    The next new episode of “The Real Housewives of Orange County” airs Thursday, Feb. 11.
