Real Housewives of DC: Plenty of Politics

     Stacie Turner

The rumor that Stacie Turner would be part of the cast has been floating around for weeks, Now it seems  likely she will  replace Michaele Salahi

    from The Reliable Source:

And we worried that “The Real Housewives of DC “ wasn’t going to be political enough. Bravo’s cameras followed five likely cast members (Lynda Erkiletian, Mary Amons, Stacie Turner, Catherine Ommanney, Paul Wharton) to the D.C. Council meeting on same-sex marriage Tuesday (spoiler alert, reality fans: The bill passed), and then to a party at Long View Gallery celebrating the legislation. Missing in action: Michaele Salahi, whose future with the show is unclear. Even more intriguing: Our colleague Tim Craig spotted the crew filming council member and bill sponsor David Catania at the meeting and separately in his office. What’s that about? The public servant wouldn’t comment.

Bravo Asking for Input on the Salahi’s

    excerpt from RealityTV World:

Bravo is reportedly seeking public input to help its decision on whether alleged White House party crashers  Michaele and Tareq Salahi should become The Real Housewives of D.C. cast members.

Bravo’s NBC Universal parent company is conducting a consumer survey to gauge perceptions about the Salahis, who have been accused of attending last month’s state dinner at the White House for Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh without an invitation, Broadcasting & Cable reported Tuesday.
Questions included on the survey are "What are the first words that pop into your head when you think of the White House Gate Crashers story?" and "How did you feel about the amount and type of coverage the White House Gate Crashers story has received?", according to Broadcasting & Cable.

After the alleged crashing became public, Bravo confirmed that the Salahis are being considered as The Real Housewives of Washington DC  cast members but added neither the network nor show’s production company had any knowledge they were crashing the state dinner.

"The decision as to who will be included in the series will not be made for several months," a Bravo  spokesman said. "We are continuing with the production of the show. However, specifics with respect to the Salahis are yet to be determined."

The Salahis are currently the subject of a federal investigation and were recently subpoenaed to testify at a January 20 hearing in front of the House Homeland Security Committee, however their attorney has stated they will invoke their Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination.

In other Salahi news, there’s a five page article in the Washington Post about everyone trying to sweep the incident under the rug.

The Real Housewives of New Jersey  may flip tables, they would never do what the White House crashers did last Tuesday.

When USmagazine.com asked the Bravo stars what they thought of Michaele and Tareq Salahi — the fame-seeking couple who successfully made their way past security at a White House state dinner, coming face-to-face with President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden — they were none too pleased.

“It’s a little crazy,” Teresa Giudice  told Us at the My Hero Gala in NYC Tuesday. “I wouldn’t go to any place I wasn’t invited to. It’s poor etiquette. It’s not my style.”

The Salahis, who are reportedly aspiring cast members of the upcoming Real Housewives of DC  series, have allegedly been shopping their story to networks for hundreds of thousands of dollars, the Associated Press reports.

“There are plenty of ways to get your 15 minutes,” Caroline Manzo told Us. “I thought it was irresponsible — very irresponsible. We are at a time of war and what message does that send to those who want to do us harm?”

Caroline’s younger sister Dina Manzo  agrees.

“I don’t care if it’s the White House or your next door neighbor and you’re not invited, you don’t show up,” she told Us. “It’s really not the right thing to do.”

The Secret Service is still considering launching a criminal investigation against the crashing couple. They refused to appear before Congress to answer questions.  All the balls in the world..those Salahi’s
