caroline manzo at the season 3 reunion
Oh, the good old days of the Real Housewives franchise, when the biggest problem was Jo de la Rosa getting a job behind the back of live-in boyfriend Slade Smiley, in Season 1 of the Real Housewives of Orange County!
Then, in Season 2 Lauri Waring a single mother, started seriously dating a local businessman, George Peterson, and all hell broke loose.
What hell, you ask? If you’re asking, you weren’t reading message boards and blogs back then. George Petersons had an ex-wife, Gina Peterson, and her relatives bashed George even more than Teresa Giudice is being bashed now. But it was the backstory, not part of the program, never seen or hinted at on air.
Relatives know where all the bodies are buried, so to speak.
The defining moment that twisted The Real Housewives of New Jersey franchise into this weird, almost morbid, direction was when Danielle Staub mentioned Teresa not acknowledging the birth of Melissa Gorga‘s youngest son. If Teresa had not jumped into Danielle’s face and let her finish her sentence, Melissa’s conspiracy with Danielle would have been exposed then and there.
Would that have kept Bravo TV from hiring Melissa and Kathy Wakile? Probably not. But family and reality tv do not mix. Look at Caroline Manzo and her sister, former RH Dina Manzo, no longer speaking because Dina left the show. Kyle and Kim Richards of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills have a toxic relationship, much of which we saw play out on the Season 1 final episode.
So we have a franchise no longer worth watching. We have no idea, despite the rumors, who will be returning for a 5th season. Jacqueline Laurita is too mentally unstable to return, but that won’t stop Bravo. Kathy Wakile and her portion of the Gorga family bring nothing to the table, despite Rosie’s obvious attempt to keep Kathy relevant with her flip out directed at Teresa. As lame as Lauren Manzo, who can’t read a road sign (remember Napa ?) calling Teresa a dickhead and asking her to spell napalm.
Napalm the franchise and declare it dead.
The Real Housewives of New Jersey Season 4 reunion part 2 will air Sunday, October 7, 2012.

Family don’t mix on reality T.V. you. Are so right and think or hope Bravo learned their lesson.
Look what happened when Caroline got mad because Danielle told Dina’s ex that she forged the signature.
Then the famous Caroline “you know what you did”
Hmm, you MEAN WHAT DINA DID?
I’ve been saying this all along, just as Melissa tries to accuse Danielle of contacting her and not the other way around, how the hell would Danielle know who Dina’s ex was and who Melissa was?
They all alienated her.
The reason why Teresa threw away the cookies at X-mas was b/c they were Danielle’s favorite.
Why was Dina allowed to blame Danielle for her leaving? Why is Dina constantly on #WWHL (well, not constantly, but you get what I’m saying) and not Danielle?
Danielle was treated bad, I don’t care what she did in her past, she has to live with that and should not of been bullied by her cast mates.
My point is as why family and reality tv don’t mix.

If someone pissed one of them off, they all get pissed off then no one wants to film with anyone. Not a good mix at all! Then for Caroline to go and testify for her Danielle’s ex and say that she gave Bravo and ultimatum, SHAME ON BRAVO! No employee should ever be able to give ultimatum’s. Especially in this situation, there are so many that would gladly take her place and be on the show.

It’s funny how Caroline and Jac was so worried about the whole situation, “oh my” “this is getting out of hand” REALLY? REALLY? Sweatty Rosie was VERY out of hand, specially for someone with a CRIMINAL record and on LIVE TV…KATFISH is a bore bore…Hey Melissa, you can’t call yourself a VICTIM, when you are part of the problem. I don’t like the fact that Teresa can’t take responsibility for somethings, the covers are HER story, i have read them and SHE DOES NOT TALK about the others, the stories are about her. The magazine takes quote from the show.
it was painful to watch…..all parties involved have crossed over into a very bad place.
I stopped watching – I just go to the blogs. I can not watch a destruction of a family any longer. Its not fun its not entertaining. Bravo has taken this show down a dark hole. Everyone attacking one person is not fun to watch.
Lately, I am starting to feel like I am going to have to go to confession for watching RHNJ. Does anyone else feel guilty/bad for watching it and participating , in some way, to this dysfunction?
Amen. These shows are becoming so hateful and dark. I feel disgusted after I watch them.
Amen. The “old” housewives shows used to be fun to watch. Now watching RHNJ the last two seasons just feels…icky.
