Nene Leakes functions on divisiveness, so this trip to South Africa will be a wonderful experience for her. For Sheree Whitfield, Phaedra Parks and Kandi Burrss, not so much. With Bambi (Cynthia Bailey) and the criminal Marlo Hampton as her backup, she will be in heaven. No, not because it’s a trip of a lifetime, going on a mini-Safari, seeing a part of the world she would never see if she wasn’t a Real Housewife, but because of the conflict she can and will cause.
In this three part South African adventure, Bravo TV again works the “ugly American” formula. The best line in the preview? Sheree Whitfield, as Marlo Hampton decides to give etiquette lessons, “Emily Post in the jailhouse” (paraphrasing). In other words, how to cut a bitch, slash right or left? We also get a glimpse into that nouveau riche thinking, as Nene and Marlo bring every piece of Louis Vuitton luggage they own. Why is Marlo Hampton so concerned about security? Not unlike Sonja Morgan in Morocco, but obsessive.
Part 1 of this adventure will air Sunday, January 29, on Bravo TV.
