Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Taylor Armstrong says she didn’t feel safe to tell her story until the death of her husband Russell, who hanged himself in August.
Armstrong’s new memoir, Hiding from Reality: My Story of Love, Loss and Finding the Courage Within, is scheduled for release early next year. In it, she discusses her rocky marriage to Russell and the abuse she allegedly suffered at his hands.
“I wish I would have been able to tell my story before now,” Armstrong said in an exclusive statement to ABCNews.com Thursday. “But, until my husband Russell’s suicide, I didn’t feel safe to tell anyone for fear of my own safety and the safety of my daughter. (5-year-old Kennedy) With Russell’s passing, I now feel safe to bring my story into the light, to help all battered and abused women, and men, and aid them in their struggle.”
“I discussed my book Monday night for the first time on Bravo’s ‘Watch What Happens Live,’ ” Armstrong told ABCNews.com. “The overwhelming response from viewers and their outpouring of support has been gratifying. From the bottom of my heart. I believe if my book can help others find the courage to deal with the pain and fear of their abusive relationships, I will have made a real difference in their lives.”
Taylor’s book is scheduled to be released on February 7.

When she says she lived in fear, she was afraid he would hurt her or Kennedy, I just don’t get that! She was still with Russell when she was dancing on a man! Women that have BWS would never do that or go to all of the parties & events she attends. Abusers keep their victim by the @ all times! Abusers are controlling & would never let the woman do all that Taylor does bc he wouldn’t want things to come out! Her entire story makes no sense! I feel sorry for ALL of his children that will one day read this book! They are innocent victims!

I really agree withh u on this.
The woman has no credibility due to her background of committing fraud with her husband. Now we’re supposed to believe she’s really telling the truth (this time). Sorry, but I find ehr claims of abuse hard to swallow. Would love to hear from someone on this site regarding off-shore accounts. Can the attorney or the judge ask for the records??
The judge will be asking for all documents from the Armstrong Family Trust
Taylor had absolutely no problem leaving her daughter alone with Russell while she made numerous trips for the show (Colorado, Vegas), and speaking engagements. So, her statements saying that her child was in danger were lies. Taylor never had bruises on her, and no police reports or hospital records for her numerous “claims” of abuse (broken jaw, broken cheekbones, broken orbital socket)
She scammed $$ from investors to support her Beverly Hills lifestyle. She was not afraid of Russell, and has absolutely zero advice to give to real domestic violence victims.
Well what can her book possibly tell abuse victims to do to “help them”. Obviously she is saying she had no answers and just couldn’t do a thing. If she has the answers of what to do for help why didn’t she do it herself? Duh, am I missing something here? Is the answer; wait till your husband dies, then write a book to make money?

so battered and abused she kept her 5 yr old in THAT situation (paraphrased) “for her and her 5 yr old own safety”..calling BULL!
Does anyone but perhaps 4 or 5 on twitter that really believe her? Why hasn’t any of the other RHOBH come out and say they have seen her bruises in the 2 seasons of filming. Poor Russel cannot defend himself
