There are no words to describe Kelly Bensimon, except to think she’s too crazy to be on television. She doesn’t understand this is classless and tasteless.

Real Housewife Kelly Bensimon has teamed up with designer Jen Mascali to observe the 10th anniversary of 9/11… with a tote bag. In her touching letter that accompanies the $240 product, Bensimon explains that she’s “totally crazy for handbags.”
After all, just because it’s 9/11, that doesn’t mean you don’t need a bag to carry your things around in, so it might as well be an appropriately themed one. It can even hold your anxiety medication, or emergency nips of vodka, or your iPod with the MP3 of Jeff Buckley’s cover of “Hallelujah” that you should play on a continuous loop to get you in the right frame of mind.
But let’s talk about what’s really important: appearances! This “Remember” bag is shiny red leather, and for an extra classy touch, it has an adornment that’s in the shape of a flame. The fireball features the words: “Each life is a miracle that changes the world and leaves it a better place than it was before.”
It’s sad that no one will buy this bag, because 100% of all sales will be donated to the National September 11th Memorial and Museum in New York City.

who even has heard of this designer? Is this really surprising? kelly lives in her own little cuckoo, nutjob world. So I am sure she thought that this was the greatest idea ever. Disgusting yes, but really shows how these HW never miss a famewhoring opportunity.

Bev – the point isn’t that Kelly is trying to use the franchise to make profit, the point is that she is attempting to make a profit off the back of the 9/11 tragedy. Totally disgusting and you either didn’t read the article to understand the callousness of this, or you are equally as disgusting to attempt to give Kelly a free ride on this item.
And, I DO respect and really appreciate all those in the military who have /are fighting or lost their life for our country. God Bless All!
I got so bummed with the fact that Kelly found a superficial way to profit from 9/11 and I really can’t stomach her for this one!!

How about we send our feelings of disgust to the designer? We always feel so offended by her ridiculous games, but this one has me upset. Maybe if, just once, one of these sponsors that get involved with Kelly are truly ignorant as to how much this woman and her actions do backfire and cause less support of a product instead if more? I’m not saying to be hateful, etc., but to explain how she portrays herself and has on numerous occasions refected a very sick, poor, image of herself as a mother, as a model, as a “woman” and she is very allienating to the majority of the public….at least, according to the many blogs I read! II find it hard that she actually has many fans – majority of people are always angry and in disbelief of her!

Hmm. I got sent to moderation, I guess it was the link. Anyways, I linked opensky’s site. 100% of the profit goes to charity, not 100% of the sales in Kel-Kel’s case. It seems like a nice way for the children of the fallen responders family to remember him; however, Kelly has made a mockery of it while making money off it.
You are wrong on the sales part. Check out Opensky’s website where she is promoting it. 100% of Opensky’s PROFIT will goto charity. There is a difference between sales and profit

Sad part is…at first, I thought this was a joke. Sadly it is true and THIS is what Kelly finds important on 9/11. I have a son that is serving in the Marine Corp and I can assure you, he is NOT fighting so that we can carry a $240 purse!!! This is offensive to me as a military mom.
