Here’s what Pedro and the Watcher at the Orange County Register had to say:
“Basketball Wives LA” debuted Monday with 3 million viewers watching two airings on VH1 that night and what does that tell us? It tells us people like to watch women talk trash about each other — and their men — and are willing to put up with some of the heaviest bleeping since “Flavor Of Love” to do so.
The series, a spinoff of VH1′s “Basketball Wives,” follows seven women (only two, maybe three of them actual wives) around Los Angeles as they talk about their lives, their loves and each other. Guess what? They don’t have a lot of nice things to say about their guys and their friends. That is, to state the obvious, the point.
So, if you want to meet the wives, girlfriends, and exes of NBA players including Lakers Matt Barnes and Ron Artest, as well as Gilbert Arenas, Stephen Jackson, Doug Christie and Jannero Pargo, check out the slide show that’s packed with information about the women and a little bit of what unfolds on the show.
“Basketball Wives LA” airs at 8 p.m. Mondays on VH1 with a repeats throughout the week.
