Over-the-top personalities? Andy Cohen’s a fan. Excessive enhancements? Not so much.
Andy Cohen may not be ready to reveal which Real Housewives of New York are returning for another season, but the Senior VP of Programming and Housewives guru can certainly voice an opinion on the facelifts, fillers and other cosmetic artifices they use to enhance their looks,
He says at BravoTV. com:
“From my time spent with dozens of Housewives, this much I know to be true: Women should stay away from lip fillers,” Andy tells Glamour. “I’ve yet to see one Housewife whose lip fillers worked out well.
“I also think that face-lifts and brow-lifts can be jarring,” Bravo’s exec VP says before
taking the conversation south. “Also, I do not love breast implants. I would say 90 percent of the Housewives have them, and I think a majority of those implants look like they’re just, like, placed there. I like natural-looking breasts. And in terms of makeup, less is more. Most of the Housewives overdo it.”
Um, Kim Zolciak, he’s looking at you. “I’ve told [her] that people think she’s way older than she actually is because of her makeup and all the work they think she’s had done.” ( He should tell Gretchen Rossi that also)
And Kim fires back in 3.. 2.. 1..
“@bravoandy I have NEVER had any work done on my face but botox which I havent had in almost 2 years! #fact,” the Atlanta Housewife tweeted. But Andy’s words shouldn’t have come as a shock to Kim. “@Kimzolciak I said you look way younger w/out your makeup! which I’ve said to you on tv 2x!” he tweeted back. Alas, KZ surrendered, “I agree!! Very bad makeup artist season 1 and 2!”

On the breast issue, Andy is a gay man, so I am not sure that he understands the view’s of straight men on this issue.
And if Kim thinks just bad makeup makes her look at least 45, she is delusional. oh, wait…
I know she’s probably had some things done and she’s admitted to breast aug, but in my opinion, Lisa Vanderpump is the best example of looking good, not overdoing anything, and aging pretty darn gracefully.
I think they all wear too much make-up, and I love make-up. They cake it on, and they don’t blend the contours well enough. Melissa Gorga, I am talking to you especially. You can see racing stripes down the sides of her nose during her talking head interviews. Most of theom have too heavy off a hand with thw eye make-up. They look like drag queens. Smokey eyes call for less blush and softer lips. These housewives do heavy eyes with bright blush and overdone lips.
I hate fake boobs, too. Who do they think they are fooling? Gat a good bra instead.
Ruthie I agree! The NY reunion was so frustrating because he so favors the brunettes.
Andy is right on especially regarding lip fillers. But those tweets with Kim — wow Andy is such a wimp! He can’t stand up to any of these women. IMO that’s the reason these shows are failing. They are as bitchy as they want to be knowing Andy will not say a word at the reunion.
I agree! So true. He needs to dish it out more. Loved the way he actually did (a little) with Alexis at the last reunion.
We see them after the makeup artists and hairdressers get done with them…and 9 times out of 10 they look awful. Can you imagine seeing them in person…up close & personal? Yikes!
All the unflattering makeup and straw like hair, too tight clothing on bodies plumped full of silicone, eye lifts and eyebrows that are startling and often scary looking, not to mention lips deformed from injections.
Again….Yikes!
I do agree. Except for some extraordinary situations, I much prefer a natural looking woman who takes care of herself than a plastic looking woman who pays for others to “take care of her.” I think this is a really bad trend that is going on right now and I hope it changes quickly.
