Whether or not one of the Real Housewives of New York broke this story is unknown, but it is suspicious that this information about Ally Zarin was released on the day of the reunion. Timing. If true, how sad and disappointing. it seemed Ally had no emotional problems, despite having Jill Zarin for a mother.

On last week’s Real Housewives of New York season finale, Jill Zarin mentioned that her daughter Ally Shapiro, who is often featured on the show alongside Mom, had decided to transfer away from Sarah Lawrence College. Ally’s freshman year had been a storyline on the show, with Jill heading up to Westchester to visit her daughter and one painful episode where Jill took Ally shopping for school clothes and made some harsh comments about her weight and figure.
Why is Ally transferring schools? Though her mom didn’t get into details, several Sarah Lawrence students told Crushable about Ally’s freshman year. While having a reality-star parent might be cultural capital at other schools, SLC has a reputation for being artsy and anti-establishment, so Ally’s connection to Real Housewives was a minus, not a plus. “She was standoffish,” one student told Crushable. “She thought she was famous, and nobody cared.”
A second student offered up an additional detail, which is that Ally was hospitalized earlier this year for alcohol poisoning and had to have her stomach pumped. “They tried to cover it up,” the student said, “but we all knew it was her.” The incident was not discussed on Real Housewives.

Oh, come on. Ramona leaked this? I seriously doubt it.
Why would Ramona “leak” this story? And how would she obtain quotes from students? It’s interesting that 5 comments in a row all say the same thing.
I feel badly for all of the RH kids. Too much scrutiny from the press. Ally seems like a nice girl.
Whether this story is true or not, I would not put it past Ramona being responsible for putting this “story” out there.She proved last night and so many time other times, that she is capable of hitting WAY below the belt. She would be so low as to spread rumors about her castmates children. Most reputable people would never sink so low, but what do you expect? She is trash in its lowest form.
well, she did tweet the video of LuAnn’s daughter “accidentally” so…yeah.
Overlooked so often, but Ramona Singer is as bad as Jill Zarin but she earns a “pass” because she is credited with “telling it like it is”. She is a mean spirited and vindictive woman who is very much in the same league as Jill.
That is just a transparent excuse for dismissing Ramona’s equally odious and destructive behavior when in reality she is no different than Jill Zarin for being as vile and slanderous in her remarks.
They are each cut from the same bolt of cloth.
Thank goodness I am reading some SENSIBLE thoughts. Ramona is the worst kind of bully; the kind who puts it out there, is rude, obnoxious, and aims to be hurtful and then rolls those horrid eyes and says she’s either not talking about it anymore (and then proceeds to talk about it) or that she just speaks the truth.
I have NO DOUBT her husband is, indeed, having an affair and IMO shows signs of that. Me think SHE doth protest too much.
PS – I smell Ramona all over this one. Since the Countess or Jill or someone said “why did your daughter transfer schools?” to Ramona, I suspect Ramona put this out yesterday to show that Jill’s daughter did, too, and not just “perfect” Avery.
Seems she does not make friends easily, or cannot make a solid decision.
Many kids overdo the alcohol freshman year, and most of those won’t do it again.

I really wish you wouldn’t even post things like this about the minor children, such as the story on VDL, too. It just feels icky. They’re kids. Let’s leave them alone.
She is not a minor.
It is reprehensible that anyone would even discuss the personal life if a child on any website. It isn’t anyone’s place to speculate about anything pertaining to this young girl. Leave her out of it!
I think it is irresponsible to speculate about a minor. She appears to be a normal child. MANY CHILDREN SURVIVE DIVORCE AND ARE QUITE NORMAL. And MANY students change schools after freshman year. Sarah Lawrence is a unique school and there is no surprise if some students choose leave. I think this is reckless and unfair to a child.
It always seemed very unlikely to me that Ally would be as emotionally complete as she seemed considering her mother and the divorce. She appeaared to have no consequences whatsoever and that’s just totally unrealistic. Too bad she had to leave Sarah Lawrence though. That is a top-notch school.
