Well readers, we have come to the end of a very shaky road. Season 4 of the Real Housewives of New York City did not disappoint those who could see the franchise as currently configured would not work without Bethenny Frankel. It’s not a matter of liking or disliking Frankel, it’s a matter of the show having a voice of reason; someone to call bs on many of the things the others did or said.
The producers tried; they postponed and re-edited the season, sent them to Morocco, made LuAnn de Lesseps the main character. In fact, it was LuAnn’s season, which may account for the look on Simon van Kempen’s face during the Natalie Cole segment of the finale episode. Did any manipulations to the editing work?
As typical with this franchise, the media guided the messages viewers received off-screen. The very things that made Season 3 so compelling made Season 4 depressing. And distressing.
Jill Zarin was up to her usual shenanigans, Rob Shuler of Naughty Nice Rob and a few others are in her back pocket, even showing up on screen during the Bobby Zarin/ Simon van Kempen hate blog confrontation.
Simon has been back-pedaling ever since. Like a kid with his hand caught in the cookie jar, “doth protest too much”. Many new twitter followers, of which he is inordinately proud.
Ramona Singer tweeting about Victoria de Lesseps’ YouTube video, causing her to be kicked out of school, just nasty. Ramona takes no prisoners.
Of the other cast members, Cindy Barshop will most likely be axed. There’s a good chance Alex McCord will be too. Kelly Bensimon, Sonja Morgan, Jill Zarin, Ramona Singer and LuAnn de Lesseps will more than likely be offered new contracts. Unless Bravo decides to sack the whole bunch.
The off-season will be more interesting than the actual season as the rumors fly.
The Real Housewives of New York reunion Part 1 will air Monday, July 25 as a 90 minute special.
Part 2 will air Monday, August 1

I had to skip through alot of parts when they were all talking over each other, it was a HEADACHE. i wish i had skipped over most of what kelly had to say, why doesnt Andy Cohen or ANYONE for that matter call her out on NEVER EVER answering a friggin question! its totally absurd that she gets asked a question and responds by being defensive, then denying everything, and then just stating that shes not goign to talk about it because everyone ELSE is crazy and “weird”……
Jill, Please keep ur opinion to yourself,LuAnn stop talking about Romona,and Alex along.
Why is everybody bothen Ramona & Alex,and Jill you still a bully and Thank God Bethany left you ALONG!
What a sad season, reunion and overall mess. I was not a Luann fan until unfortunately she was humbled with the divorce last season. She made a comment to her housekeeper years ago that left me going “eh who does she think she is” and the whole season was like that this year. While I have grown to like Alex she is the which one does not belong among the others. Her views, and interpretations are not met with at the very least objectivity… watch part I. I never saw so many people gang up on another. Cindy is totally gone and watching her well lets just say bathroom breaks. Jill should be ashamed of the woman she has grown to be. Yes the liquid lipo and weight loss makes for a terrific outward appearance but for 2 seasons in a row she has gotten uglier and uglier. Good luck keeping viewers after the horror show called a reunion. I wouldn’t want to be any of these women’s friends anymore.
Horrible season for NY housewives. Women are dreadful.
The entire cast should be replaced.
