Big Brother 13; Episode 8: Who’s Sorry Now?

We open the episode with Lawon claiming, “Who’s house? Rachel’s house!” Shelly knows she’s safe for the time being. Dom realizes his alliance ship is sinking and he needs a new game plan. He’s glad he’s made his backroom deal with Daniele and feels pretty good about his chances of staying  put. Everyone gives Rachel hugs and kisses and Adam plans to move his lips to her derriere to stay viable. He knows the fact he didn’t vote with Brenchel week one puts him in jeopardy. Jeff wants Dom and Adam in the hot seat.  The HGs are scrambling to regroup as individuals.

The gang plays a practical joke on Rachel as she bursts in with, “Who wants to see my HOH room?” The house is eerily silent until the HGs ambush her whipping pillows in her direction, just a little harmless fun. Fortunately, no one stuffed a pillow with rocks. She receives all kinds of edible goodies, which makes her day since she’s on slop for two weeks.

Adam shows up in the HOH room to receive a verbal spanking. He takes it well and professes his loyalty. Lawon is prepared to do the same, but with a twist. He’s honing his “yes man” skills, but will do what he wants in the end. Brenchel don’t trust Lawon, in fact they don’t trust anyone at this point. No? Shocking! In a game where only one person is left standing, trust is a relative term.

Back at the kitchen, Dominic is chastised for his snoring. A clip is shown of Jeff tossing empty soda cans at his head as he sleeps, to no avail.

Rachel pops in to announce a Luxury competition is about to commence. This means no have-nots for the week, making everyone happy. They head to the back yard and find themselves standing on a red carpet in front of a small stage. Adam prays Tori Spelling will make an appearance, but alas, it’s this regular looking dude who is on a new TV show called “Same Name.” Mr. X shares a name with a celebrity and the HGs must guess what that name is. The first clue is three bars of what looks to be soap and a pair of opera glasses. Jordan figures out binoculars are what you ‘watch’ people with. How she got ‘bay’ from bars of soap is so convoluted, I rewound and still couldn’t figure it out.  Jordan rings the bell, heads into the DR room and guesses David Hasselhoff. Jeff holds his head in his hands and says, “I don’t know how you got there, but don’t tell me.” Funny stuff.

The second clue is a microphone in a stand. Dom is thinking a singing soap star? Brendon heads to the DR with his guess, Michael C. Hall of Dexter fame. Porsche follows with more of a question than a guess, “Michael Jackson?” Adam chooses Ricky Martin, Lawon declares it’s Barbra Streisand.

Clue three arrives in the form of a knight in armor carrying a lifeguard buoy. He walks through the house as Jeff tears into the DR with his guess of Mike Knight, Does he mean the boxer, the personal trainer or the musician? So many to choose from. Rachel takes a shot with Keira Knightley and Dom gives three guesses, none of which make sense. Shelly remains clueless.

The fourth clue is a very cool black car. Could it be a specialized Pontiac Trans Am? Hmmm. Binoculars, soap (which may actually be surf board wax), a microphone, a knight, a lifeguard buoy and a hot fast car? Anyone? Anyone who was around in the 1980s?

It’s KITT, the Knight Industries Two Thousand and in the driver’s seat is David Hasselhoff. The HGs are delighted to see another human being after a month and he’s touched by their welcome, until he realizes they haven’t seen another human being in a month. “No wonder you like me!” he laughs.

Jordan is announced as the winner of the Luxury Comp and must choose three guests to head to the HOH room with her to watch a screening of CBS’s new show, “Same Name.” She chooses Jeff, Shelly and Kalia, leaving Rachel in a complete snit. How dare that wench not invite me? Rachel begins to question who Jordan is aligned with and her wheels begin to spin faster than KITT’s in an chase scene. Upstairs, the chosen few find champagne, sushi and a big screen TV. They settle in to watch their luxury prize.

Downstairs, Brenchel engage in tiff #348. This time Rachel is stressed out and tired of her lover berating her day in and out. Tears flow as she claims she can’t do anything right in his eyes. The duo goes back and forth with who takes things too seriously, who won’t let go of grudges and Brendon threatens to walk out of the game and leave it all to Rachel. He’s here to win, but she keeps mucking it up by talking too much to others and giving information she shouldn’t. He needs to keep her under his thumb because he’s the smart game player. Um…. Dude didn’t you leave BB#12 in week five? Case closed, you aren’t going anywhere and we all know it.

In the kitchen the other HGs think couples rehab is in order and Dom notes that when Brenchel win, they are all lovey dovey, but when they lose its Armageddon. Brendon is determined to take them all down, including JeJo. Rachel believes Brendon is not himself when he’s in the house and this game is destroying their relationship. Brendon claims the money isn’t important. Rachel wants her dream wedding. Is this why they came back? A $10K cake and $20K dress? Dang, have they not been watching the economic news? In the end, they are both crying and I really want to hand them both a box of tissues.

Dom, Mr. Smooth Operator, pops in on Brenchel to align himself with them now that Keith and Cassi are gone. He’s a lone wolf and isn’t afraid to throw Adam the lamb into the center of this hungry pack. Dom gives them his word he’ll protect them to the end. Rachel responds, “Your word had better be good.” They all shake hands and Dom scampers immediately to Dani to spill his conversation. He explains Brenchel are completely pissed off at JeJo right now and willing to throw in with Dani and himself. He also tells her, you’re a Donato, you need to do some damage. Nice, let her do it ya pre-teen. Dani wants to know if Dom would ever put up JeJo and he’s not sure he’d want to go that route, but would be happy to backdoor them. Obviously no one wants to play bad guy and take down America’s sweethearts. Dani decides it’s time to get Brenchel to do her dirty work. With a smile she begins to plot.

Dani cruises up to the HOH after the party ends to discuss how dumb JeJo are being. It’s time to take out Jeff she claims. The duo nods and waves to her and she leaves confident her plan will work out. Jeff shows up in damage control mode to ask if they are upset they didn’t get invited to the party and both declare, Oh no…. why would we be upset? Rachel didn’t get sushi, but something fishy is definitely going on now. They engage in a we won’t send you home love fest and Jeff heads downstairs to tell Jordan all is well in their camp. Rachel is now completely confused and admits she would have zero problems shaking up the game if needed.

After the break, we find Rachel scanning the photo wall. She must put a duo up for eviction. The HGs voice their concerns, or lack thereof and the nomination ceremony is announced. Dom and Adam, with all their promises to be faithful to Brenchel still land on the block, each believing the other is the target du jour. The POV competition will be crucial. Whoever wins will have a huge advantage. Adam and Dom could remove themselves. Brenchel could retain complete control, take Adam/Dom off and replace them with JeJo. Kalia/Lawon….. who are they again? Well, regardless, they could cause some mischief. We’ll get to that on Wednesday. Until then, hope everyone enjoyed not just the drama, but the cracking of the façade as well. When will this house of cards implode? It’s beginning to look like sooner than later.
