Disclaimer: I did not see Jill Zarin’s acting debut on White Collar. Jill Zarin of the Real Housewives of New York is known for creating her own hype, so this cameo appear was more than well publicized. Is this the reason Andy Cohen had the stars of this show on Watch What Happens, Live! last week? To promote the show, therefore to support his clearly favored friend Jill? Food for thought (or not)

The Real Housewives of New York‘s Jill Zarin made her acting debut on USA Network’s White Collar tonight. How did she do?
Creator Jeff Eastin and cast member Tiffani Thiessen touted the New Yorker’s appearance prior to the east coast telecast, which featured Peter (Tim DeKay) dancing, Texan accents, Dante Haversham and a guest appearance by Twin Peaks star Madchen Amick, which The Hollywood Reporter first reported last month — but some viewers were bewildered by Zarin’s “cameo.”

I don’t get it. Why close the thread with at least two episodes, the reunion and the lost footage still to air? Rules, smules. With all the annoying pop-up, pop-under ads they run, they are making mucho dinero, with more to come.
On the other hand, TWOP is owned by Bravo TV.

After stating the thread would be closed for the season, there was a change of heart over at TWOP/Bravo. The thread re-opened last night with this admonishment from Moderator Howard:

Bringing in real-time information about how the bankruptcy is progressing is off-topic. The subject of the thread is the show, and the housewives as seen on the show. It’s not a gossip site or a news aggregation site.
I get that it’s limiting and frustrating, but it’s the best way we’ve found to keep the threads from becoming unmanageable, which is when they get closed. With that said, have at it!

A little off-topic, but had to comment about the TWOP issue.
The ninnies they have moderating their boards are outdated thinkers who are over/indulged as employees.
They operate the service in spite of, not because of, the viewers and participants. Everything now is meant to generate revenue, thus the popups, unders, and outs.
TWOP jumped the shark about a year ago.
I did see her cameo appearance; its on aol.com’s homepage – “you’ve got…” My opinion, for what it’s worth, is that she did very well and looked great. I don’t believe she overacted or made it more than it was, as we so much of with celebrity cameos.
Don’t be a hater. I did watch the show and I can tell you that she did great. Jill Zarin played a rich, NYC woman…. and she did great. Why wouldn’t she! I think its good for people to branch out and she wants to do a little acting… why should that bother you?
