And the ghost of Bethenny Frankel
The Real Housewives of New York gave us a taste of the Souk in Marrakech, a taste of an uncooperative camel, more than a taste of explosive diarrhea (TMI, Bravo) and a trip back to Scary Island.
Jill Zarin certainly seems to have a twisted view of the world. Real friends, fake friends?
By the Jill Zarin definition of a real friend, one must go along with everything she says and kiss her rather wide ass.

So,
REAL FRIENDS
LuAnn de Lesseps, who barely paid attention to Jill during season one, seems to indeed grow out of Jill’s ass. To keep her storyline relevant? Who knows.
Kelly Bensimon, making sense this season, but otherwise just crazy. She should be angry with Jill for choosing to go to Scary Island last season instead of meeting her at the airport. The real friend thing is a one-way street in Jill Zarin’s world
Jon Wexler, a 20-something nephew of hers, son of sister Lisa Wexler, who attacked everyone on twitter last year with a negative thing to say about Aunt Jill, a 24/7 job. Little Jonny needed to get a life.
Ginger Zarin that poor dog of hers, the very definition of “if you want a friend, get a dog.”
Bobby Zarin, who finances her delusions of grandeur, and has no calluses on his feet. Again, TMI.
Ally Shapiro, her sickly, long suffering daughter, Jill had her add Zarin to her last name, perhaps because Bobby, in his late 60’s, really doesn’t have to leave anything to her.
FAKE FRIENDS
Bethenny Frankel doesn’t kiss ass, which means she and Jill were bound to have a falling out. Even if Bethenny hadn’t gotten her own show, and Jill hadn’t launched that media blitz against her, this relationship was doomed to fail.
Ramona Singer Please. How can Jill be friends with anyone with no filter? Knowing each other for years and friendship are very different.
Jennifer (the bride) Takes no shit off Jill. Bravo, add her next season.
Alex McCord Personal opinion: I suspect Simon van Kempen lost his job as Manager of the Hotel Chandler after Jill Zarin made that “spread-eagle“ remark at the Season 3 reunion. If so, Alex has shown remarkable restraint in her on-air dealings with Jill. Jill hates Alex, luckily Alex knows it.
Conclusion:
Jill is beyond bitter that Bethenny has moved on and has been extremely successful. It is killing Jill that Bethenny has become a huge success and Jill is no part of that whatsoever—not as a friend, not as someone who could try to ride Bethenny’s coattails, etc. Jill is invisible to Bethenny and Jill can’t get over it. In her re-write of history, Ramona is to blame for that, forgetting the fact that Jill had many opportunities before the trip last year to make up with Bethenny. She was done, remember?
In short, Jill still needs to get a hobby. Such a delusional, bitter spirit.

Jill’s new pony tail didn’t work out very well, either!
Jill Zarin is a classic study in Narcissism at it’s best. It’s all JZ 24/7 in every situation in every way. She’s the biggest victim, the most important “friend”, takes credit for success and no ownership for conflict. She had some kind of buffer at the beginning of this franchise with Bethenny but once that lifted, she has just gotten more and more glaring in her personality deficits. She’s no one friend not even Bobby. It’s all about what serves her and she thrives off these conflicts she keeps manufacturing. She’s a fascinating, distasteful trainwreck to watch!
Yepitsme,
You really nailed Jill! I can’t help but watch her because it’s hard to believe a person could behave the “twisted” way she does. She’s someone that you love to hate. Without her desperate attemps to be relevant, the program would be less interesting minus JZ.
Jill has proven herself to be one of the most vile, lying, bi&ch on TV. There’s no going back for her, she’s rotten to the core.
Great insight.
Watched that video on Bravotv.com where Jill, Cindy and LuAnn are in the car discussing Ramona. Jill says “her [Ramona} renewal from last year, didn’t stick” Ha! Well, you’re ‘change’ didn’t either dahling.
Bobbi:
I couldn’t agree more!
SO well said! Jill comes back from Australia announcing she’s a new and improved version of herself. Talk about self delusion! Jill will never change. She isn’t analytical enough to figure out what’s wrong with her in the first place because it is ALL someone else’s fault! Her attitude permeates the show and is really ruining this season, just as it did Season 3.
