The announcement from the Women’s Venture Fund the evening they honored Ramona Singer.
Say what you will about Ramona Singer, she was a hard-working woman long before she joined the Real Housewives of New York. She has owned RMS Inc. for over 20 years, pre-dating her marriage to Mario.
On every season of the show, she has consistently addressed women empowered to define their own destiny, not just through a man. She does it in a non-intrusive manner, so you don’t get tired of her saying “I work”, like Vicki Gunvalson of the Orange County Housewives.
Fans have witnessed the downfall of many “Real Housewives”.because their wealth depended on a man. Alexis Bellino, Peggy Tanous and Tamra Barney all lost their homes. Sonja Morgan, the most pretentious of the New York housewives, recently filed bankruptcy, the outcome of a business deal gone bad. LuAnn de Lesseps reportedly received only $2 million and the house in The Hamptons in her divorce from Count de Lesseps . Sheree Whitfield of the Atlanta Housewives reportedly blew through the $750+ settlement in her divorce from Bob Whitfield.
Then there’s the case of Teresa Giudice of the New Jersey Housewives, about to go on trial for bankruptcy fraud, as she spent over $100,000 on television after the declaration. All just to impress the viewer.
“Kadooz” to Ramona. By the way, did you see Sonja’s behavior during Ramona’s speech? A little green eyed monster at work? Thank you, Bravo, for a Jill Zarin-free episode.
