Alex McCord Talks "Explosive" New Season of NYC Housewives

Alex McCord

Well folks, it seems the Real Housewives of New York is off our radar screens, at least for now After Bravo actually announced the premiere and posted previews both on the website and on television, then suddenly pulled all ads, notifying the participants by email the morning of the pull-out, the internet as been rife with speculation.  Why?

There can be only one reason:  It’s just not good.  Without Bethenny Frankel as the glue to hold it together, they just don’t have much to go on.

Some viewers on twitter became very angry with Bravo about replacing New York with the Real Housewives of Miami, vowing to boycott the series. Laugh Out Loud.  Networks do not program based on the preferences of a few bloggers and their followers, many of them with agendas of their own.  It’s all about the Benjamin’s, baby!  No network will knowingly put on a loser program during February sweeps!

Anyway, Cat Ommanney of the Real Housewives of DC had a launch party at friend Ted Gibson’s Salon in New York for her self-published book “Inbox Full”.  Open to the public, Alex McCord and Simon van Kempen made an appearance. (Would they have attended if RHONY was on the air?)  Alex said the new season will be “explosive”.

We shall see.

The latest: Scheduled to premiere in April

To all the haters get your facts straight, Bethenny’s show had the highest ratings ever for a Bravp series premier and still holds that title. After leaving RHNY, her show has been a hit and her career has skyrocketed…what can be said about any of the wicked RHNY women? Did any of them just make over $100 million dollar business deal? Nope, they’re too busy declaring bankruptcy and pretending to be rich.

Bethenny was so poorly portrayed on “Housewives”, and her show is wonderful. I am so happy that she left those horrible toxic women behind and is part of a happy family with Jason and Bryn.
Bethenny could have never succeeded at happiness with that group of women (Alex excluded).
Happiness would have been as attainable as nailing jello to a wall.

If Bethennywas the glie that held the show together, how come her ratings does not match up against her real housewives counter part. The ratings are low, just like miami. Doesn’t NYC earn over 2mil in the ratings.

I do believe exactly what was stated. It is the $$$ that matters to Bravo. And Yes, there are some of these people that have web sites that are a tad bit scary. They seem to feel that they have web sites and they then turn into stalkers. AS you stated, they have their own agendas. And you and I know who they are. Wink Wink. The facts are that RHONY was worst than ever. IMO, Bethanny was not the glue that held it all together.

I have heard so many times that the reason RHONY is not on is because it sucks without Bethenny. Personally, I dont agree with this at all. Bethnenny was funny on that show, funnier and more charming than she is on her own show. But I didn’t watch it only for Bethenny. She didn’t “make” the show. I liked the dynamic between all of the women, not just Bethenny. As for boring, RHONY can’t get more boring than RHODC or Miami so far. I hope Bravo decides to bring it back soon.

Hi there- just wanted to correct one teensey little mistake:

Cat Ommanney’s book launch party at Ted Gibson’s salon was invitation only, the after party at Boxers was open to the public.
