Kelly Bensimon is writing a column for PaperMag.com during New York Fashion Week. Quite a bit of the drama on the Real Housewives of New York goes down during the fashion extravaganza, will she write about any of that? Notice how she states in the article “my production crew”, meaning Bravo is filming. Will she mention that nemesis Alex McCord has launched a modeling career and is walking for some of the major designers? How will Jill Zarin behave once she sees Alex modeling, or will she avoid every show Alex walks for?
The real question, of course, is who is writing for Kelly? Hope he/she is well paid.
Kelly Bensimon’s Fashion Week Diary Part 1: The Fashion and TV Worlds Should Hang Out More

Gold bar hosted a party for me Thursday night to celebrate the kick off of Spring 11 Fashion Week, and for my new role as guest blogger for papermag.com. Rob McKinley, the co-owner/designer of GoldBar and The Surf Lodge, is pictured here with me at Gold Bar. As a designer, he is responsible for many of the most buzzed-about hotspots in town. In his spare time he loves to get in the DJ booth and spin records. All of my TV producers came to see all of the fashion insiders who were there, like my jewelry designer, as well as the fashion publicists, Cosmo Radio uber talents, press reporters, and amazing personal shoppers from Intermix and Stella McCartney who stopped by.
It’s not just the designers that make the fashion wheel turn. If personal shoppers don’t like items, they don’t sell. If press doesn’t speak well of trends, they don’t sell. It was fun to watch the TV peeps observe how the fashion peeps navigate. Little do the TV peeps know that one lookand 2.4 million viewers makes a huge impact for designers. Maybe TV and fashion should have a beer and discuss the possibilities. Just a thought.

The woman is a brainless twit!!
Peeps? Really? Is she in junior high school now? It would be nice if she knew anything of the history between designers and television before suggesting as a brand new idea, Bob Mackie ring a bell Kelly? How about Oleg Cassini designing most of Grace Kelly’s clothing for her movies? Edith Head setting clothing trends for decades. I could go on but there has been a synergy between designers, and stores (Miracle on 34th street ring a bell?) with the entertainment industry since the beginning of moving pictures. It’s really such a shame someone so ignorant is given so many undeserved opportunities. Maybe beer isn’t what she needs, but a better education about her non existent expertise. Notice she’s only writing for the blog and not in the actual magazine. That’s telling as well.
Why, when this idiot speaks/writes, it’s all about MEEEEEEEEEE? Is that really what papermag wants? If so, they got it. If not, dump the dope.
