Jeana Keough, in four seasons on The Real Housewives of Orange County, had quite a ride, as viewers saw her children, Shane, Kara, and Colton grow into adults, her Real Estate business bottom out, her personal finances go to hell, and her marriage to ex-baseball player Matt Keough dissolve.
Through it all, Jeana maintained her dignity. A rare character trait for a Real Housewife.
Jeana was featured in the 1980 Playboy issue. Young and hot, after leaving her home in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and her husband at the time, last name Tomasino, Jeana Tomasino was exposed to that lifestyle and all it entails. She was one of the principal “dancers” in the ZZTop videos. She met and married then Major League baseball player Matt Keough of the Oakland A’s. They settled in Coto de Caza, in Trabuco Canyon, a relatively new development in Orange County.
Jeana still had some influence in Hollywood, remember the little girl in the 1995 Dustin Hoffman film Outbreak? That’s Kara Keough.
But at home, Jeana was an abused woman. Matt Keough suffered a near-fatal brain injury when he was hit in the head with a baseball. That’s apparently when the drinking and temper tantrums started. He badgered Jeana, still a very beautiful woman, about her weight, a habit soon picked up by her sons. The sad part is Jeana, in my opinion, never looked overweight to me. She just looked like she needed new breast implants, hers had become saggy and matronly.
In the meantime, Jeana, long before housewives, began selling high-end real estate. She was not dependent on Matt for her lifestyle, managing to own 4 homes before the real estate bubble burst. Not bad for an ex-bunny from Milwaukee.
Unfortunately, her self-esteem issues and depression did show on television. That, and a salary dispute, made her bow out mid-season.
It was a smart move by Bravo to feature her on Thintervention. Not a Jackie Warner fan, her show did need a makeover.
Now we have a reason to watch.

I really like Jeana, but she was way too lenient with her son’s disrespect towards her. I can understand putting up with the horrible behavior from her husband for a while since it was the result of head injury, but there comes a point when you have to realize you are not married to the same person anymore and things are never going to change.
Her son was another matter. Jeana did him no favors by letting him get away with mimicking his dad. I would think twice about getting in a relationship with Shane because he obviously is dumb enough to think his father’s behavior is OK and Jeana evidently didn’t impress upon him that it is really emotional abuse, no matter what the cause.
When is Shane going to admit he is gay?
I’m sorry. Any “Work Out” viewer who had lost a sister, mother, friend or anyone close to breast cancer has to remember the scandal of Jackie Warner making fun of one of her client’s breast implants. Turned out the woman was a breast cancer survivor. I used to watch her show religiously but even if the woman had gotten the implants for vanity alone, it was not appropriate for the owner of the club to make jokes at a client’s expense. I think she tried to throw her assistant under the bus but nobody believed her. A true professional executive owner of a company would not stand for such talk. And she was yucking it up. Totally and completely uncool. Unprofessional. That and seducing & f*cking around with one of her employees, the drunken fights with her girlfriend that made the tabloids made me lose all respect for Jackie Warner. Yeah….she’s a real role model.
I like Jeana too. She was the only reason I watched OC and when she left I did too. I don’t care much for Jackie either but I’ll watch just because Jeana is on.
She seems like a nice person. I despise her ex-husband and older son. They were so rotten to her. I will probably tune in to this show to root for her.
