Apparently Kelly thinks this is a good thing!
Since Kelly Bensimon’s two-part mental breakdown on the Real Housewives of New York , I decided to talk about her children. She opened up this can of worms by insisting that Bethenny Frankel had bashed her kids in the press continually every day. There is no evidence of this allegation anywhere in newspapers, magazines, message boards or blogs.
No, of course I’m not bashing her kids. I never bash the underage ones, except Lynne Curtin ‘s Alexa for calling her mother a bitch on the Real Housewives of Orange County.. Which, of course, was Lynne’s own fault.
In the cameo of Gilles Bensimon we saw him photographing Danielle and Christine Staub, He seems perfectly capable of raising the two girls. He lives downstairs from Kelly, and has probably surrounded them with good caretakers. Indeed, the only criticism we’ve seen of Kelly’s parenting has come from the daughters themselves, remember “entertaining people with your weirdness”, and the pancake segment two weeks ago?
After the meltdown, one wonders, as Sonja Morgan wondered, is it all right to criticize someone as mentally ill as Kelly Bensimon appears to be? Did she forget to pack her “drugs of choice” for this excursion? I still maintain she has let Jill Zarin get into her head, and she was definitely using Jill Zarin’s method of over talking everyone, problem is, you have to have the ability to string together a coherent English sentence for it to work
I admire the way Alex McCord handled the debacle, she maintains her dignity and class no matter what. Love her.
What does Kelly have to say about her behavior? She says she had a “breakthrough”, not a breakdown. Too looney for TV.

Just saw this on the rerun, and appreciate being able to look up what was said about the children. I think Kelly continues to be nuts, or as someone said, Cocoa Puffs. I still like Alex, although I wish she’d not come out quite as vociferously as she did this season. The new Sonja seems to be getting more and more outlandish as her concern about money grows; making sure she’s kept on the $how.
Have any of you ever seen video of Gilles? He’s just as batty as Kelly. Let’s hope neither of them are too involved and the kids are being raised mostly by a normal nanny.
I think that is probably the case, because if you follow Kelly’s tweets it appears as though she is almost never with her children. The day I saw her tweet the most about them and post pictures and videos was, ironically, on fathers day and Gilles was nowhere in any of the pics, vids, nor mentioned at all.
From a reliable source I can tell you there is a many years nanny that splits her time between households. Gilles and Kelly are equally involved, but the girls spend a lot of time with the nanny. She’s been around since the beginning. Just be aware that the innocent catholic schoolgirl act Kel puts on is a far cry to the rumors in the fashion world. Long before housewives, there has been talk about who those girls daddy really is..
i, also wonder, if gilles isn’t more hands on then we’re led to believe. remember scary island? when kelly was on the cell apologizing to her daughter for missing riding with her? i remember thinking the apology was a bit excessive for someone who, presumably, is able to ride with her daughters any time she wants…just a thought
She sure looks a lot older than 40! What happened to her neck? I feel sorry for anyone who has to deal with Kelly! Ugh! Sweetie stay off the Meth, people who use Meth pee smell like cat pee.
Hopefuly, Giles is really taking care of the children. There is NO WAY kelly was “acting.” Ratings? Attention? She could be the cover girl of Mental Illness and the Affects of Same. She hasn’t changed since she first came on the show. This time, however, she apparently ran out of her meds or was taking something else.
She should not be on any reality show. She is unable to focus, beats up a boyfriend…and comes and goes as quickly as a race horse.
I hope Bravo removes Kelly, Jill and LuAnne. I admire Alex and Sonja. It’s time for a change. This entire season was so darn sad.
This was done six months ago. I think. Kelly has since adopted a puppy(lmao)poor puppy. I think Gilles might be more involved than we are led to believe for some reason. I just have that gut feeling. The way the girls talk to her. IMO. I think she is either doing drugs or does have a chemical imbalance cause it was wild and definitely a jawdropper that last episode. She is a proud woman. I also noticed that she is blocking almost everyone who does not have something nice to say on her timeline on twitter. I hope she is doing it for the ratings and to call attention to herself. People have also done weirder things. I doubt it though and again feel like Gilles is more involved than we are led to believe.
