Second arrest for Bryson Bryant this month.
NeNe Leakes’s son Bryson Bryant was arrested Tuesday for possession of a controlled substance and carrying a weapon, a Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Department official confirms to PEOPLE.
Byrant, who has appeared on The Real Housewives of Atlanta with his mother, was released from a Gwinnett County Detention Center at 3:35 a.m. “The charges say he was in possession of a controlled substance and weapon by jail inmates,” the law enforcement official tells PEOPLE. “That means he had a weapon with him when he was arrested for possession of a controlled substance.”
On March 7, he was arrested on a minor marijuana possession charge and was placed in an Atlanta-area jail. At the time, Leakes issued a statement calling the arrest a “family issue” and pledging that she would handle it “in a private manner.” Said Leakes at the time: “My son is not the first young adult to experiment with marijuana, and he certainly won’t be the last. Still, as parents, this is a chance for us to have an open dialogue with him about the dangers of any substance abuse. I realize as a parent that my job is never done. And as I’ve tweeted, tough love was in order.”

You are right absurd to sublime. The curtains are way outta line with their shiyat. I commend you darling because it really is not pretty and it is a reflection on Nene n’em.lol. I heard it was not weapons possession rather something related to his last arrest. Either way stupid stupid stupid. Reality shows are sometimes going way too far. WTF is up with Bethenny and that tude?lol
I think this can blow up in her face. You are right elfninosmom. I would not let this play out in public like this. It can definitely do more harm than good.
I didn’t say anything about it the first time around, but since he’s been arrested again already … My personal take is that he wants to be a club crawling thug, but isn’t smart enough to live that lifestyle without getting caught.
I’d be curious to know if the controlled substance was just pot again, or something else. That would speak volumes about what’s going on.
The weapons charge is most likely that he was carrying some kind of small weapon which he didn’t disclose to the cops, the cops didn’t find it when they arrested him, and it was only found on him when he got to jail. Definitely not smart on his part, but also not the end of the world if it turns out to be something like a pocket knife, which would not be illegal outside a detention facility.
Look, young men do some very stupid things sometimes, especially when they get in with the wrong crowd. This is therefore hardly shocking, but at the same time, Bryson needs a serious reality check since he re-offended within weeks of being arrested on the first charge. For that reason, my (obviously unsolicited) advice to NeNe and Greg would be to stop bailing him out (assuming they are the ones who did so at 3:35 a.m.)
The bottom line is that he’ll get only his feelings hurt while cooling his jets in the local jail, but he’ll get seriously injured if he continues on this path and ends up in prison. That young man will become very easy prey for other prison inmates, without any doubt whatsoever.
Another serious concern is that the entire world doesn’t need to know he’s such a screwup as a young adult. He may very well straighten up his act, so it shouldn’t follow him in the public consciousness given his age and the fact that it’s a victimless crime. Yet this will haunt him forever if it is covered on the show. As a mother, that really bothers me.
I have concerns about his public exploitation also. It’s the reason you never see a post on my blog about anyone under 18, the exception being Alexa Curtin, but I never condemned her, I condemned her parents.
Not one of these famewhores thought about the impact going on a reality tv show would have on their families.
WTF? this boy has no self control or this a big ploy for ratings? it is convenient now that they are taping for shiyat like this to happen. People will do anything for money.
