From Reality to Runway

A Real Housewife of New Jersey’s daughter, Christine Staub, signs with IMG Models

from fashion week daily news:

(NEW YORK) The Real Housewives of New Jersey is a war of many battles, and in a rivalry between Danielle Staub and Teresa Giudice, one big battle has been clearly won by Staub. During the first season of the show, the table-flipping Giudice struggled to make her daughter a child model by repeatedly re-taking test pictures to please Wilhelmina Kids. Staub’s elder daughter Christine, on the other hand, was just signed with IMG Models–sparking interest overnight with modeling powers who are comparing her to a young Angela Lindvall or Christie Brinkley.

Staub, 5’10″ and just fifteen years old, is entering the 10th grade in September as an honor student. “This is all very new to me,” she told The Daily. “I’ve never really done any modeling before, so I’m just learning while I have a chance and being guided by the best in the business. I’m also getting used to industry people looking at my face so closely!” She’s still taking her first photo tests and her agents at IMG are contemplating a possible Fashion Week debut. But for now, Christine is focused on upcoming class schedule and family calendar. “My daughter reads lots and lots of books,” said the reality star mom of her spawn. “So far, it’s books and not boys.”

Good for Christine Staub! she truly is a natural beauty (a couple of seasons back you could see it when she dipped her toes in some modeling then).

This must drive Teresa Giudice mad, as she has been pathetically pushing her eldest daughter Gia into modeling – the kid’s got a bad attitude and lackluster looks….she lost any cuteness after season 1. The bad attitude no doubt inherited from T and Juicy Joe.

I’m glad I@m not the only one who doesn’t think much of the Manzos.

That’s fantastic news, as long as (1) her daughter aspires to become a walking coat hanger; and (2) this is not just an attempt on Danielle’s part to live vicariously through her child.

If the daughter reads lots of books, though, perhaps she needs to concentrate instead on getting admitted to an excellent college in a few years.

Either way, if Danielle’s daughter is happy, then I’m tickled to death. Lord knows she’s probably been exposed to more strictly-adult drama than most 25-year-olds, poor kid, so I wish her only success and happiness in whatever path she chooses to pursue.

(None of the above should be construed as a dislike for Danielle, as I probably wouldn’t watch The Real Housewives of Manzo if not for her highly amusing antics.)
