Part Two

In Season 2  of the Real Housewives of Orange County, Lauri meets George Peterson.  If there was ever any hope for Josh, this ended it, as Lauri decided not to parent at all so she could be free to pursue Peterson.

In anger, Josh contacts Frank Mickadeit of the Orange County Register.  From Frank’s column:

He is also a very angry young man – angry at his mom for, in his opinion, exploiting him and then abandoning him in favor of the millionaire developer George and the lifestyle he can provide.”

A quote from Josh:

She has changed,” Josh says of his mom. “She’s a different person. I don’t know if the show went to her head, or what. At one point, she went off to Europe (with George) and left me with the home and the car. I don’t think she wanted to parent me.”

By this time, she has taken Sophie and moved in with George. They were in New York City when Josh, along with Slayte Peterson, George’s son, were picked up in Lauri’s car for curfew, a violation of his probation for his previous drug charges.  Gina Peterson, George’s ex, gets them out and allows Josh to move in. When she returns, she signs him over to the state, he remained in custody until his 18th birthday.
